Woodbridge, ON. - Feb 15, 2007: Funded by The Ontario Trillium Foundation and serving the residents of Vaughan and surrounding municipalities, the New Horizon Project is designed to help South Asian newcomers and their families, improve their economic situation by providing information sessions and workshops on alternative employment and self-employment options for adults, youth, and seniors.

Through an integrated linguistic and culturally-sensitive approach, participants will gain access to existing educational, employment, settlement, and other related services in the community.

Services Available:

• Support in developing economic plans through individual and family counselling services, delivered by Urdu, Punjabi, and Hindi speaking staff and volunteers
• Self-Employment/Entrepreneurial workshops
• Information Sessions on opportunities for employment in the business, financial, and non-profit sector
• Referral to community services leading to training, internship, and employment
