3rd South Asian Heritage Day & Recognition Awards Ceremony in Vaughan
May3, 2008, Woodbridge, Ontario: Human Endeavour and Punjabi Community Health Centre are two dedicated non-traditional organizations working particularly for the benefit of the South Asian community. Both organizations have formed a strong partnership to utilize each other's expertise in the areas of economic development, skill enhancement, seniors wellness, parenting, addiction services, mental health and domestic violence to provide a holistic solution.
On May 3rd, 2008 Human Endeavour and Punjabi Community Health Centre collectively celebrated the South Asian Heritage Day and Awards Ceremony to recognize five individuals and five organizations that have made outstanding contributions to society. Awards were distributed by Honorable Michael Chan, Ontario Minister of Citizenship and Immigration in the presence of many other dignitaries and community leaders.
The event attracted more than 600 people from Vaughan and neighboring municipalities. It was also well-attended by dignitaries including Honorable Jim Karygiannis MP, Susan Kadis MP, Reza Moridi MPP, Dr. Helena Jaczek MPP, Mayor Linda Jackson, Regional Councillors Mario Ferri and Gino Rosati, Councillors Sandra Yeung Racco, Tony Carella, Police Chief Armand La Barge, former MPP Mario Racco, David Cohen - Councillor Richmond Hill, Marlon kallideen - Commissioner of Community Services, Community Service Organizations and many others.
