Seniors Talent On Play a Big Success
Woodbridge, ON. January 16, 2010: Human Endeavour’s event Seniors Talent On Play held on Saturday January 16th, 2010 at Vellore Village Community Centre was a great success. STOP was attended by 450 plus multicultural seniors who sang, danced and enjoyed throughout the duration. It brought together seniors from diverse cultural and geographical backgrounds to raise awareness about each other’s traditions & culture. Music and performing art is a universal language, to which all people respond even if they do not understand the words. This was evident at this event when seniors applauded and danced to the beats of music.
Seniors from Markham, Thornhill, Woodbridge, Maple, Toronto and Peel Region attended the event which showcased performances from the Italian, Chinese, Indian, Punjabi, Tamil, Hispanic, Brazilian, Gujarati seniors.
The event ended at a serious note where seniors performed a short play that demonstrated the relationship between parents and children. It showed how parents are like a tree that sustains the child in its childhood, cares and provides for them at every stage of life and in the end only desire to have some time with their children.
The project is funded in part by the Government of Canada's New Horizons for Seniors Program and is supported by many multicultural seniors groups and organizations.
The next event is scheduled in March; the date would be later announced. For more information contact Human Endeavour at 905-832-6842 or visit www.humanendeavour.org.
