The project aims to promote mental health and well-being among south Asian newcomer families in York Region, by providing culturally sensitive and linguistically accessible mental health promotion and prevention services, resources, and community engagement opportunities due to settlement stress, isolation, changes in family dynamics, generational differences and cultural expectations. For this purpose, we are conducting a number of informational sessions, targeted around the issues faced particularly by parents and their children after immigrating, due to the vast differences in culture and institutional structure.
